First Eucharist, also known as “First Holy Communion”, is the sacrament of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.

Children are taught that the bread and wine become Jesus’ Body and Blood through the power of the Holy Spirit and the words of the priest. They are instructed to receive the Body and Blood with reverence and that through the Eucharist they receive strength to live as followers of Jesus.

Both the child and parent are required to attend two separate sessions – initial and follow-up group meetings at the church for preparation. Parents are the primary educators. Children and parents are given workbooks for study home. This program includes First Reconciliation which takes place in December 2018.

Children should:

Be in Year 2 of ongoing religious education in our Faith Formation Program or parish school or be enrolled in a faith formation program taught by their parents.

If you believe your child is ready for this sacrament please contact Amy or  (425) 392-5516 ext. 227 for a registration form. Registration forms (including a copy of Baptismal Certificate) will be due in October 2018.
